Election Committee


The FIIC constitution specifies that an election committee shall be formed at the each annual meeting.

The purpose of the committee is to locate persons suitable for a position on the FIIC board of directors.

The committee currently has no members.

Mandate


The mandates of the election committee is specified in the FIIC constitution as follows;

§ 5.2 Election Committee
§ 5.2.1 Creation
When the presiding board of directors has one year left of their four year mandate
an election committee shall be formed at the annual meeting.

§ 5.2.2 Composition
The election committee shall consist of a minimum of two and a maximum of
four persons whereof one is elected as president.

Any person from a member organisation in good standing with the federation is eligible
for a position on the election committee with the exception of presiding board members.

§ 5.2.3 Duties
The committee has the following duties:

  • Actively search for candidates for a position on the board.
  • Contact the members in good standing in order to have their opinions on which persons they wish to see on the board.
  • Contact the presiding board members asking about their wishes to continue their work on the board.
  • Contact the persons who apply for a position on the board (according to § 3.3.3) in order to know their preferences on type of work etc.
  • Based on the information received through their contacts, write a report to the annual general assembly concluding the information on the persons available for election on the board of directors.
  • Deliver the report to the secretary at least one month prior to the annual meeting for further distribution to the members in good standing.
  • Present their report at the annual meeting of the federation.
